Now I've realised that not all elderflower drinks are nasty, I'm keen to try more. And the best place to start is with a brindle (I love the name of this cocktail). I love the savoury element of this cocktail and it's perfect for autumn with its herbs and berry flavours. You'll need:
- 25ml elderflower syrup (St. Germain is perfect for this).
- 50ml gin
- 15ml simple syrup
- 10ml creme de cassis
- 3 sage leaves
Pour the gin and elderflowersyrup into a cocktail shaker with the simple syrup. Add ice and shake. Pour into a martini glass and then (gently) add the creme de cassis. Garnish with the sage leaves. Look outside at everyone getting cold and smile to yourself as your get a nice warm glow from the gin.
