Cocktail Hour: Chocolate and Hazelnut Martini

Nothing compares to a classic martini - clean, crisp and refreshing. But in honour of Chocolate Week, may I present to you the Chocolate and Hazelnut Martini. It's sweet but not sickly, and a delicious end to a dinner party instead of - or even as well as - dessert.

You'll need:
  • 50ml vanilla vodka
  • 10ml crème de cacao
  • 10ml frangelico
  • Cocoa powder
Shake it!
  • Wet the rim of the martini glass and dip it into the cocoa powder.
  • Mix the ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain into the glass.
You end up with a creamy, smooth cocktail that tastes worryingly non-alcoholic. You can use normal vodka, but vanilla vodka makes it taste sweeter and like a chocolate cake in a glass. Mmmm....

  1. Oh dear, Monday afternoon alcohol craving because of you!! Never a good start to the week.

  2. The best way to start the week, surely?

  3. My best friend and I always stop by Bar Chocolate in Soho for Chocolate Martini's on our Girly days out. YUM!

  4. I have the chocolate cocktails there, they're really good. The best one I've had is in Dirty Martini in Covent Garden, but the service can be pretty bad if it's busy!

  5. Good lord. That looks AMAZING.
