Lightbulbs don't really get much in the way of swish design. Perhaps because we're so used to throwing them away after they've blown, we don't want to spend money on something that we see as disposable. But lightbulb filaments can last for years and years (the world's longest lasting lightbult - The Centennial Light - has been on for over 110 years, fact fans).
Eric Therner has created a diamond lightbulb that actually lasts around 2000 hours (that's about three months). Obviously that's not as long as The Centennial Light, but it does make this cool piece of design more worthwhile.
Yikes! 41 Pound Sterling for a diamond shaped light bulb. That’s a little steep, regardless of how long they could last. I’d rather invest in a light cover or lampshade with a jewellery themed design. But these bulbs are quite unusual and unique. They would make a nice gift for those with a particular taste!
