Shop in the Spotlight: Love Your Home for Less

I've only just found out about Love Your Home for Less, but from what I've seen so far, I'm rather impressed. Even their name is a motto I can get on board with, and their product range is an eclectic mix, so that whatever your budget or design style, there'll be something to suit you.

For example, I know I'm far from the only Domestic Slut still nursing an obsession for all things Paris, and this folding side table finished with a classic art deco French print is just the ticket for adding a cheerful, colourful nod to my Francophilia without decorating every room with naff rip-off watercolours of the Eiffel Tower and the Moulin Rouge. And it's only £39, meaning I'll have enough left over for some duty free cheese and wine to adorn its surface at my next Paris-themed party. And if you can't get enough of those art deco cat prints, there's also matching storage boxes for super-chic coordinating.

Available in black or silver, this Chloe metal cabinet somehow manages to combine being both futuristic and also utilitarian, with a military-inspired vibe. Apparently it makes a practical bedside table, with the advantage being more storage space inside than many more traditional designs, but I also have a feeling it would work well in a home office. And since it's on wheels, it's easy to whizz it round your humble abode to wherever you need it, even once you've filled it full of all those pesky heavy items like books or magazines. It's £295, and there's a matching larger version if you want to go all out with the Warhol's factory silver fetish.
Last but not least, these vintage-style bottle trays are adorably dishevelled and would give a bit of old-fashioned romance to any kitchen. They're £38, and if I owned these, I'd be tempted to pretend I was in a beach bar every night. But where can I buy an Italian lothario to dish up the drinks?

  1. This site does have some great items but I just wanted to mention that we had a few probs with customer service. I ordered the Chloe cabinet and it took over 6 weeks for delivery as it wasn't in stock. When delivered it was a lot darker than the image online, so I emailed twice asking if it was meant to be like this with no response :( After some research I found a site in France that stocks them under a different name and much cheaper (over £100 inc delivery!) in 2 different shades. I'm guessing they ordered stock and sent it to me in the wrong shade but I'll never know as they didn't respond!

  2. Thanks Zoelee, that's worrying indeed so thanks for letting us know!

  3. Think very carefully before you buy! Great items but appalling customer service. I've been put in a position where legal action is the only way to get my money back - despite the claimed 'excellent returns policy'. Likewise, they're not responding. I shall never buy from them again.

  4. Ditto. Waited twice as long as they promised for sofa and when it came it was faulty. They ignore all e-mails and calls. Truly appalling.

  5. The worst customer service I've ever received. They don't respond to any communication. I waited over 12 weeks for my sofa (supposed to be delivered in 6 weeks). The only way I got it delivered was to pay for a courier myself. It was delivered the wrong colour and terrible quality. I tried to return it for a refund but faced non-communication and non-compliance. They eventually agreed to a refund... I'm still waiting for my refund after a month has passed, and now taking legal action. AVOID!

  6. Yes my experience has been appalling. They were very quick to provide a quote and subsequent communication to provide a bespoke sofa but once we paid I can honestly say I have never experienced service as bad. Leigh was rude to me on the phone, the sofa was 3 months late, and no apology has ever been made. Not only that the sofa was damaged on delivery and trying to get that resolved was like pulling teeth. I think they should be reported to trading standards. In addition the sofa I have now got, does not bear any resemblance to the one we were shown at the show room. Unfulfilled promises, appalling service, lengthy delivery lead times, and damaged goods one to avoid.
