It's not very often I feature stuff from the US, even if it's amazing. Everything takes ages to arrive, you have to occasionally pay wonderfully vague and sporadic customs charges, and there are so many great designers this side of the pond and there aren't enough days in the week to show you all of them let alone ones all over the world. But then there was Boticca. And then there was the jewellery designer Jungyun Yoon.
And this ring.
This ring idea is one my favourite things. Completely minimalist on the outside, but then with a secret message on the inside. But it's written backwards, so that when you remove the ring...
You still get a reminder of your ring's message. It's absolutely the most romantic thing in the world. I love the 'marry me' version, but there's also a more curious 'always' ring too. I thought these would be very expensive indeed, and the gold versions are pricey at £475. But lucky for me I much prefer silver and they're just £75. Shipping to Blighty just £12.50. A very small price for such a special piece of jewellery.

How strange! I don't think it's romantic at all - one step away from being branded with a rubber stamp.
ReplyDeleteReally? Makes me smile every time I look at the picture.
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm with Alex - I think I'd feel like I was being branded with it.
ReplyDeleteI think it's lovely but it has to be very uncomfortable, surely?!
ReplyDeleteI really like it and like the idea of the "always" one as a wedding band. Just need to get engaged first.
ReplyDeleteI don't think it would be uncomfortable (I'm sure the designer has considered that). Any ring you wear makes a mark after a while.
ReplyDeleteI doubt it would be uncomfortable as long as you got the right size. It's lovely. I might ask the husband if I can have this for an eternity ring.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the lovely post on Boticca! We're London-based with emerging designers all over the map, but I do know Hawaiian designer Jungyun Yoon's rings are surprisingly comfy (just get the right size!). You could comfortably surf with it :)
ReplyDeleteThis is so lovely! And like you say most rings leave a mark so why not make it say something if its going to be there anyway! Hmm must somehow get this page link to the other half. :)
