Wallpaper Wednesday: Teacup Alley Wallpaper

Teacups, on wallpaper? How very twee. Thankfully this Teacup Alley Wallpaper manages to marry the two without producing a design that's so sickly sweet you'll want to vomit all over your doilies. Maybe that's because it's genuine 'vintage' - in this case the pattern is taken from the archives of legendary American fabric designer Vera Neumann, known to her friends and admirers simply as 'Vera'.

Vera's fame was at its height in the 50s and 60s and this pattern looks like it dates back to about then too. If, like me, you love your mid-century ceramics, you'll be in lust over the cups depicted here. While I don't have a wall to spare, I'd be tempted to buy a roll and use it to decorate the back of otherwise dull looking cupboard - a job made even more easy by the fact this wallpaper uses 'sure strip' backing, designed for easy application and a smooth removal.

And *sale klaxon* it's been reduced to £29.95 a roll from its original price tag of £58. Snap it up now. It's from Anthropologie.

  1. Love this. It's quirky, but it's not overpowering. The sign of a good wallpaper.
