Once upon a time, I thought about buying a houseboat. They're cheaper than houses, I could have a little cat in a sailor hat sitting on the deck, and some of the very coolest places in London are along the river, or have docks near them. But then I realised that you have to pay mooring costs and you have to do stuff with a toilet that doesn't exactly say luxury living. And it'll be freezing in winter. Suddenly living on a boat doesn't sound as exciting.
But staying on one does. And On the Water in Regent's Park sounds like the perfect antidote for my seafaring whims.

It's not cheap from £250 a night (and you have to stay a minimum of two nights), but you also get a bottle of bubbly on arrival, and home baked breakfast delivered to your door every morning.

Your gorgeous little hideaway is a 20 minute walk to Oxford Street, and five minutes away from Primrose Hill so you won't be bored of things to do and places to explore.

And if it's raining? A pile of DVDs and a massive bed to curl up in. You don't need anything else, do you? If you're looking for a really special place to stay in London, but you don't fancy a hotel, On The Water might just be perfect. I wonder if they have a cat in a sailor hat?
First seen on Londonist yesterday by the wonderful @nicksmith.
