Kinto's Marvellous Mugtails

It seems I need a side order of cute with my coffee this month. Last week, it was animal espresso pots; this week, I'm pawing my computer screen longingly at the sight of these Mugtails by Japanese design company, Kinto

They're £14.95 each from 95%, which probably means I can't afford the whole set, what with Moira breathing down my neck and all (insert appropriate expletive here). But I would like just one to make my mornings more bearable, please. This Rabbit Mugtail is every sort of cute, and led me to find out that a rabbit's tail is called a scut. DON'T ALL TELL ME YOU ALREADY KNEW THAT.

I'm very taken by this Fawn Mugtail. I presume I am not expected to lift a cup of boiling hot liquid by the teeny-tiny Bambi tail (ALSO CALLED A SCUT!), because with my clumsy man-hands that can only end in tears and second degree burns.

Now, this wee squirrelly fellow is a bit more sturdy. All I have for you here in my Internet Voyage of Animal Tail Name Discovery is that the Bavarian word for a squirrel's tail is Oachkatzlschwoaf. No doubt you'll find that extremely useful in all aspects of your life. Perhaps you could name your first-born Oachkatzlschwoaf?

*KITTY KLAXON* It always comes back to cats, doesn't it? Quite rightly. And this Cat Mugtail looks like the most practical (and safest) of the lot.

Which one would you choose? I'm leaning towards the fawn, because LOOK:

Mugtails make ace candle holders, too! And the fawn's at the front of the photo, so obviously that makes it the best.

Uh-huh. That's how I make decisions.

    1. Actually, we have a ramen recipe coming up this week so that'll come in handy when you've spent all of your money.

  2. Moira glared at me at the cash point this morning. "If you have filed your tax return, YOU HAVE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT."

    THANKS.

    Also, these are lovely.
