Shoe Porn: The Audrey

As the reluctant bearer of large feet – sigh, size 9 – most shoe ranges are dead to me for ending at size 8. I slavishly love DUO, partly because they go up to a size 10 in lots of styles, but mainly because you get to choose from three width fittings (and lots of calf fittings too, in the case of boots) so you can be sure your footwear fits you perfectly.

Voila my highlight from the Spring collection, the Audrey.

Hepburn would love, would she not? I’m not usually the world’s biggest kitten heels fan but chuffing hell – these are gorgeous. I’m a sucker for black suede anyway, but I also love the sexy low-slung scalloping, and at 2.5 inches that’s still a decent whack of heel to be getting on with.

The Audrey (swoon!) is £95 and also comes in a pinky-beige if that's more your bag.

  1. Being a size 9 is such a pain! I really struggle with shoe shopping so very glad to hear of another port to try :)

  2. I hear that Rachel! It's so frustrating when you see a hot pair of (reasonably heeled shoes) and they finish at size 8. I splashed out on two pairs of boots from DUO this winter and have practically lived in them. Where do you like getting shoes from?

  3. Love these so much! Perhaps they'll ship to Ohio...?

  4. I used to get a lot of my heels from Faith, but obviously no more!

I've been relying on Next and Office quite a lot lately, but always on the look out for others!

  5. @WriterMom I've just checked for you on the site and yes - yours, in Ohio, for $20 P&P

@Rachel I loved Faith and was frankly devastated when it closed. Office has a great range but surprisingly narrow. I like New Look for cheapy summer sandals, and Irregular Choice for quirky flats too. Size 9 win! (Jimmy Choo do size 9 - sigh...one day.)

  6. When you say size 9, do you mean 42 or 43? It bugs me no end that some shops think a 41 is an 8 - begone with them! It's easier to get large bras now in many places but stil nobody's catering for big feet. I keep pondering brogues but they are reminiscent of having to wear men's shoes to school as nothing that passed regulations came in my size...

I will cry when my Office biker boots wear out, they cover all the things I need from winter boots AND they fit.

Clarks go up to a 42 and their Original range has some lovely heels. I also love their Cocoa Creme coloured ballet flats.

Kurt Geiger goes up to a 9, plus their American Vintage range comes up pretty big. I also find Dorothy Perkins and Topshop do the odd 42, though I dislike the thin soles. And yes, Next are worth checking out, though they're a bit hit and miss. Did not know about IC though - hooray!

  7. Which Clarks store? Which?! I've lost count of the times I've walked in there and asked for a 9 only to be blankly denied.

Hmmm....I will have to have a think about this and draw up a proper post with shoes in a 9 and up - we must and shall be properly shod!

  8. More shoes! This time going from 8-13 in narrow and average fittings:
