Since casseroles are still very much on the menu (despite the fact that it's July, for crying out loud) these silicone trivets from Dutch company, VBK, will come in very handy. The designs are based on Neolithic prints which will impress any archeologists that happen to come round for dinner - probably palaeontologists, too, if you happen to know any - but, even if your interest in pre-history is next to nothing, you'll still love these creatures.
This guy is GRUM, he appears to be a rhinoceros-y kind of thing. Like his friends, he's dishwasher safe, so you can keep him lovely and clean with no effort.
Say 'hello' to SMAK, he might be a distant relative to a hippo (perhaps?). Whatever he is, he has a nice face and he stops you melting your worktops with hot pans. He and GRUM are £12.95 each.
You get two of BLUB for £17.95, and they seem pretty happy about that. When you're not resting hot things on them, they're great for giving you extra grip for opening tough jar and bottle lids. You can find them all over at brilliant website 95% Dutch, and quite frankly, I can't decide which one I love the most. Can I have all of them, please?
