It's time for our Just Desserts round-up again, and a big thank you to all the bloggers who got involved. For anyone who's missed us banging on about it, we announce a dessert theme every other month. Anyone who wants to get involved makes a dessert, blogs the results and links back to us, and we do a round-up of your amazing recipes so everyone can coo over them and try their favourites.
This time, our theme was Fighting for Custardy and you all rose to the challenge admirably (and not one of you criticised our laboured pun, well done all). We've got a prize of a personalised wooden spoon from Hunter Gatherer for your favourite recipe, so have a read (and a bake) and vote for your favourite.
In loving tribute to Richard Briers, Victoria from Alphabet Soup made "Roobarb and Custard" pannacotta with ginger crumble, That bright pink rhubarb not only looks gorgeous, it's infused with vanilla.
Bourbonnatrix Bakes made malted milk chocolate pots de crème. She wasn't super keen on the taste and texture contrast of the chocolate topping (pass them over here, BB, I'll help you out), but the pots were divinely creamy.
Bread and Fruit gave us custard apple towers AND a lovely story about her grandma. You sandwich caramelised apples and custard between two disks of cake. Bonus: they're one of your five-a-day, thus practically a health food.
We're all off round to The Spicy Pear for the next Chinese New Year if she makes another batch of these custard buns. Light fluffy bread with an oozing custard centre - yes please.
High Tea Cast gave us this winter wonderland trifle as an alternative to Christmas pud. Frankly, it's a good dessert option for any time in winter, especially with that warming shot of brandy.
We joined in too, although we're not eligible for the prize (boooo!). Laura's gave us a completely amazing Mille Crêpes cake, and Hazel presented a wonderfully boozy chocolate whisky custard. She used shop-bought custard, so hop to it if you can't be faffed to make your own. And we wouldn't forget a gluten-free option: Caleigh's got it covered with her coconut and cardamom crème brûlé.
