I've spent the weekend in Amsterdam, hunting cool things and whooshing about on tram lines (thanks heaps, Eurostar). I've been inspired by all things Dutch so what better than a hotel in a windmill? This windmill hotel is even closer to home - it's in Norfolk.
Cley Windmill dates back to the 18th Century and you have the option to stay in the B&B or in the stables as a self-catering holiday. I think I'd always choose B&B - if I'm staying somewhere with sails, I'm going to make the most of it.
You'll be in good company staying here - the late Elizabeth Taylor filmed The Conspirator at Cley Windmill in 1949.
All of the bedrooms are en suite, and a couple of them also have roll top baths (and some very impressive views of the salt marshes).
Prices start at £89 per night and go up to £189 per night for the snazzier rooms. This is the ideal place to visit while I plot my next trip to Amsterdam.
