You may have noticed that here at Domestic Sluttery, we're rather fond of books. And clothes. So all the better when the two combine and as part of a good cause.
Out Of Print Clothing make these lovely t-shirts with beautiful book covers printed on them. As per the name, many of them are out of print though they have new ones commissioned from a selection of artists. All of them are very lovely indeed. The good cause part comes in through the donation of one book per t-shirt to Books For Africa.
My favourite is this The Great Gatsby one which is one of the artist collaborations:
I also love this Nancy Drew one. I want to go and re-read Nancy Drew books now.
And who knew frogs could look so stylish? The ones on this The Origin Of Species t-shirt do.
Not keen on a t-shirt? They do iPhone cases and e-reader covers too. The t-shirts are $28 each and shipping is a flat rate $10 which is a pretty good deal indeed.

OH MY. I need one of these!
ReplyDeleteThey're ace! I'm very tempted by The Outsiders t-shirt - one of my favourite books and films as a teenager: http://www.outofprintclothing.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=L-1025
ReplyDeleteIt was hard picking just three to share with everyone. Sara, I've not read The Outsiders so I shall add it to my reading list!
ReplyDeleteThey're lovely. But the Darwin title is wrong and that's going to bug me.
ReplyDeleteSiany: actually, I think it's right (were you thinking, like me, that there should be an extra 'the'?): http://www.amazon.co.uk/Origin-Species-Charles-Darwin/dp/0517123207
ReplyDeleteNo, I want an 'on' at the start - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/On_the_Origin_of_Species
ReplyDeleteAhhh, I see. I was double-wrong about the title. Putting that Masters degree in Eng Lit to good use since 2005!
ReplyDeleteHe lived in Shrewsbury, see. My friend's family own his old house. I've slept on his living room floor.
