Well Preserved
Lakeland are the perfect place for the practical. And today, I have to be practical. Because I want to make chilli jam and I can't because I don't have any airtight jars. So off I head to Lakeland. Because they do really good value practical stuff. More impressive, is just how pretty these airtight Le Parfait jars look with all of their goodies in. I suddenly want a farmhouse kitchen and preserved lemons.
But first, the chilli jam. And that means buying some of these babies. They're £15.99 for six 1/2 litre jars, and £17.99 for 6 1 litre jars. I'm going to have to make a lot of chilli jam to fill them all.

Oooh I love these, I'm on a real preserving kick at the moment, and keep, wash, sterilise and reuse all my old food jars, but cooking from scratch means I have very few of these. Surely by dint of my wonderfulness at not having lots of jars I can justify splurging on some pretties?
ReplyDeleteThis I really really need, thanks.I have a ton of lovely fruit from the garden and am making my first tentative forays into jam making. Lakeland problem to add to my selection of other retail faves, Merci ! xx
ReplyDeleteI love Lakeland as well - I spend a lot of time trolling through the organizing gadgets, thinking how much better my kitchen would be if it was better organised, but never seem to get around to doing it!
ReplyDeleteIn this case though, you might want to check out IKEA - they have 1.0 litre jars that look very similar to the ones here for £1.01, with the typically charming IKEA-ish name of Slom.
Happy jam making!
You all like jam jars. Brilliant. I'll get making the chilli jam then!
