Resin isn't something that I'm naturally attracted to. When it comes to jewellery, I'm all over anything enamel and sparkly. I'm a bling magpie. If it's bright and brash then I want it.
Then I discovered Maeko, a jewellery line by designer Nicola Greene - she's worked as a creative director for fashion houses like Armani and Burberry, as well as being accessories designer for Nicole Farhi.
Luckily, Maeko doesn't have the designer price tag. The resin and wood rings that I've got all excited about are all around £50 and my favourite, pictured, is just £35. And it looks like one of those stripy Licorice Allsorts, and that's always a good thing. Every single piece is handmade to order so you'll have a piece that's totally unique to you, after just 7-10 days.
Maeko is such a refreshing range. I'm not so keen on the necklaces (they're a little too jingly-jangly for me), but the bold pieces are gorgeous and surprisingly affordable.
