It's raining. It's Monday. The weekend is around a billion years away and you guys need cheering up. So we're giving away a Go Postal gift subscription!

Go Postal is our excellent gift scheme with Howkapow that sends you awesome secret presents in the post. You decide how much money you'd like to spend (£10, £15 or £20 a month) and then we send you or your friend secret presents that will brighten your day. It's the perfect surprise gift, and fab for those Really Difficult To Buy For people.

What do you have to do to win three months of goodies? Just leave a comment below telling us what would be in your dream secret box. Would it be a holiday to a private island, a trip to the moon? A cup of tea that hasn't gone cold? (That's what I'm wishing for right now) or something else entirely? If you win, your secret boxes will have gorgeous homewares and design brilliance in them and we'll make your days a little cheerier for three months.

  1. A wedding planner and Grace Kelly's dress. I'm an unwilling bride. I want the big day but couldn't plan a burp in a brewery. It's getting embarrassing every time I get asked when the big day is. I don't know. All I have is a pair of shoes and bridal shops give me snowblindness.

  2. My perfect secret box would include a snuggle on the sofa with husband and cats (there's just about enough room), a lovely gin dry martini, as cold as you can get, and chocolate - deep, dark, and preferably with some chilli.

  3. I would just love something quirky to make my tiny room in Paris feel a little bit more like home. Eccentric, but cosy. And some tea, you can't get, "proper," tea here.

  6. My secret box would contain all the lost hours I spend looking for my glasses/phone/keys, then I could hide on the sofa for hours (days probably) catching up with all the novels I haven't read yet and browsing wallpaper sites. @m2comms

  7. A series of dance lessons with one of the lovely Strictly Come Dancing Pros? The key to the library from Disney's Beauty & the Beast?

If it has to be something that exists, and would *actually* fit in a box (albeit a large one) I'd say a year's supply of tea and chocolate. Because there's nothing those 2 mighty ingredients can't fix!

  8. My secret box would include a replica of Noel Fielding's hair (when it used to be good - Mighty Boosh era) so I never have to worry about a bad hair day again, a single glove to keep my mouse-hand warm in my freezing office and a piece of caramel shortcake please. x

  17. Right now, I'd love to open it up and find a beautiful, handracfted, patchwork quilt! I've recently done up my bedroom and all that it is missing is a super snuggly quilt! I'd also be rather happy to find some obscure and exotic ingredients, and some sparkling wine! Yummy!

    Good luck everyone!

  18. Probably not a very original request but an purse that never empties would be great!

    ReplyDelete
  19. A blanket, a pork pie, a strawberry milkshake, a lamp, a comfy chair and a rubbish girly book. (Can I have a box big enough for a chair? If not, a squishy cushion will do...)

    ReplyDelete
  28. One month of hot sunny days please.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Right at this moment, what I want most is a pair of fingerless gloves. Not just any pair, but those ones with the mitten flap thing that you can button back for full dexterity. My fingers may cease to be blue then!

    ReplyDelete
  37. My dream gift box would have train tickets (or possibly a chauffer driven car?) so that I can get up and see my family more often - over 300 miles away and I miss them like crazy!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I'd like a trip to Sweden to surprise my sister on her 30th birthday, but I realise that may be a bit greedy for a £15 box...so a wall map for our hallway would be great! ~ Sara

    Following on Twitter @shoegirl1965

  40. A BIG SNUGGLY MANATEE HUG!

Addendum: If manatees happen to have an aversion to dream boxes or are unwilling (nobody supports manatee hug trafficking), then I suppose this will have to do: http://www.floridamanateetours.com/product_images/100-1.jpg

    Also...these shoes:

Let's just say that if it wasn't for the Domestic TEMPTRESSES they wouldn't need to be in my dream box, and I'd be happily ignorant of their existence instead of lamenting the lack of tropical shoe on my decidedly non-tropical tiny gnome feet. *sigh*

  42. In my first box I would like some dry cat food.
In my second box I would like a 200 seat theatre so we can have all the good times again.
In the third box I would like a hugging machine (otherwise known as a hairy man).
For the cherry on top? A pinch of talent or luck.

  43. I have to say that my dream box would be filled with lots of historical hats! I've just started a PGCE in secondary history and really want a box full of hats for active role play in history lessons as it's a brilliant tool for bringing history to life. Such a shame that they are so expensive on a student budget... x

    ReplyDelete
  44. My perfect box would be stuffed full of delicious fruit as I am a student suffering badly from fresher's flu and I need all the vitamins I can get my hands on! It would also have the courage to finally tell my long-time heart throb how I feel - does that come in boxes?!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Right now I'd love a cuddle, a hot cup of tea and a chocolate biscuit. xxx

    ReplyDelete
  46. A sloth wearing fleecy Christmas pyjamas. However, I'd also (reluctantly) take a toy one instead, since posting a sloth in the post might cause some delay and confusion for all involved...

    ReplyDelete
  47. A really big, really strong coffee cake with walnuts. And the owl cushion currently residing in Primark's homeware section - it's not silly or cute or cartoony, it's a proper bloody owl! X Laura

    ReplyDelete
  48. Right now I'd love a dinner reunion with old friends and some air tickets to a tropical, preferably beachy, destination. xxx

    ReplyDelete
  49. I've just moved house and have a dreadful cold so right now my ideal box would contain some blackcurrant lemsip, a handyperson to unpack all my boxes, and a coat rack which the new flat is sadly missing!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Some nice tea, a new teapot (with stars on) and new york cheesecake. Yes please!

    ReplyDelete
  51. In my dream box would be a cheat sheet on how to pass my finals, or at least a message from the future saying that the work does pay off. Alternatively, all the little things that I want to treat myself to, but never quite feel I can justify.

    ReplyDelete
  52. A KitchenAid. Oh the things I could do with one of those bad boys!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Some calamine lotion. Because I have the chicken pox. Boo.

    ReplyDelete
  59. The perfect secret box would contain a pair of dancing with joy shoes, a dress of pure happiness and flirtiness and coat of pure unadulterated bliss.

And maybe a necklace too. A sparkly one.

    ReplyDelete
  60. My dream box would contain a miniature Frida Kahlo, to inspire me to be fierce in moments of need :) (though something tells me Frida is not one for a box!).

    @emwemma

    ReplyDelete
  61. I would like an under eye cream that actually reduces my dark circles. Or alternatively, more sleep.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I would have one perfectly crisp autumn morning, to be opened some time next July when I need a little zing.

...Or maybe just an ironing board that doesn't wobble.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Sunshine & turquoise sea to make me happy on the darkest, coldest winter days; the perfect pair of vegan knee high boots & Jake Gyllenhaal, with stubble. Just poke some air holes in the box for him please.
I wish this was a real game. x

    ReplyDelete
  64. ooh, ooh! Can i have the tiny, wrinkly little alien guy from Flight of the Navigator? You know the one; i hope you do. I'd keep him in my pocket, and knit him teeny jumpers. I wonder what he eats?

    ReplyDelete
  65. A tiny box, inside another box, inside another box, in another even more cavernous box and so on forever. Nothing so spoils a surprise like opening it.

I'd be like the Miss Havisham of novelty gifts, surrounded by strips of wrapping paper and empty boxes forever more...perhaps I'm not really grasping the idea here.

Failing that Hedwig, neatly reassembled, so that all can once more be right with the world.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I would really like a box of sleep, because I never seem to have time to get any, and I am in desperate need of some!

    ReplyDelete
  67. A perfectly planned, executed and funded offbeat wedding featuring all the things I really like but can't afford, so I don't have to do any more arguing with my fiance or negotiating with the mother-in-law :)

    ReplyDelete
  68. a draft excluder with dog-repelling qualities and a robot that hoovers the floors!

    ReplyDelete
  69. A cup of Earl Grey and scones (with clotted cream, super hard to get here in the States) on a balcony somewhere in Europe...and actor Chris Evans to share it with me. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  70. I'd like all the cherished things I've loved and lost and will never get back: my houndstooth scarf; my favourite Lego man; the scraps of paper with hastily-scribbled telephone numbers of friends new and old; the shoebox full of gig tickets an ex-girlfriend threw away.

    And a new glasses case.

    ReplyDelete
  71. A tiger. And some lessons on how to train it so it won't eat me...

    ReplyDelete
  72. At this moment I'd love a box that contains my notebook; I've just realised I've left it on a train ... it contains all my lists, all my inspiration and ideas and some draft love notes that I was going to send to my boyfriend as we rekindle our romance.

    ReplyDelete
  73. my dream box would turn out to be some sort of teleportation device (complete with tardis sounds, please) because i love living abroad but i miss my friends back home & around the world. sometimes i want nothing more than to hug them & chill in their kitchens for a cup of tea. (also all of my friends who want to go to cool events at prince charles cinema with me seem to live everywhere but london!!)

    ReplyDelete
  74. A baby sitter. Yep definitely. For several days. Of course I would need a Brownie (mythical creature, not more small children) to tidy the house first before a stranger came in and tried to find the kettle.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I would like a box of sunshine big enough for me to be able to crawl into it and doze. Or a fairy who would come and make all the jobs I don't want to do but need doing magically done.

Actually, what I really, really want is my other half. We keep having to stay away from home on different nights with work at the moment and I miss him so much it's starting to hurt. It would just be so nice to see him for a bit!

    ReplyDelete
  76. I would love to have a box filed with energy for Monday mornings, calorie-free chocolate, a holiday on a secret island and a treasure hunt...but some fabulous homewares will do! :)

    ReplyDelete
  77. A pair of snugly pj's, a cuppa and a packet of custard creams :)

    ReplyDelete
  78. I'd just like a nice box of vintage buttons, perfect to rummage through on rainy weekends.

    ReplyDelete
  79. My box would have a plane ticket to Tokyo, a map of all the amazing things to do there and a cookie... just because.

    ReplyDelete
  80. My box would be filled with all the things I miss from the UK... Potato waffles, 24 hour supermarkets, my Mum, friends, and Earl Grey tea.

    ReplyDelete
  81. I'm a bit wary about saying what I'd like to be in my dream secret box. You see, at home, if I drop Christmas hints for example, then Father Christmas generally ignores these on purpose.

If I close my eyes, in my dream box I see:
    - A reliable man who will fix my roof so that when it rains, it doesn't rain inside my bedroom anymore
    - The keys to my dream cottage in Finland, like this one http://prian.eu/price/241673.html. So pretty!
    - A note telling me that all presents on the John Lewis Refuge gift list have been purchased (http://www.redonline.co.uk/news/sam-baker-s-daily-letter/john-lewis-refuge-gift-list), as this would mean that every woman and child in refuges over the Christmas period will “receive a minimum of two to three presents each to unwrap on Christmas day”

Goodness, what would be in my box of dreams...sorry gifts, same difference right?
Something glamorous and sparkly, or dotty, or stripy, or with a repeated horse print, maybe a scarf so that I could dress up hunners of outfits in one fell swoop.
I'm also all about the notebooks at the moment, lined or squared, all good, however I like 'em a bit regimented, so a blank one just wouldn't work for me.
I'm always a fan of something that smells nice, candles, soap, hand cream, all good. I like brooches, lip gloss, glittery things and I'm also a big fan of amazing stuff that I don't know exists, but definitely need in my life. A sweet treat, or maybe a recipe and the key hard to find ingredients.
If I can really have anything, then a teleporting tunnel or door, I'm not particular, that can take me anywhere in the world at the drop of a hat.
Lovely, thanks, I'll leave the storm doors open so that it can all be dropped off.

    Michelle
