Shoe Porn: Mango's Polka Dot Peep Toes

Summer shoes are tricky. Like most people, feet creep me out and I don't want to repel the tube-travellers of London by showcasing my clodhoppers in a few straps of leather disguised as a 'Roman-style sandal' or a 'flatform' (thanks, Grazia, for giving the flat platform it's own little name). My heart may yearn for a neon turquoise jelly shoe from Office but these classy polka dot peep toes from Mango will look ever so ladylike with both my vintage dresses and my knackered old jeans.

I usually find Mango a bit conservative for my tastes but these cuties pile on every shoe thing I've ever wanted: polka dot, peep toe (reduces percentage of foot showing to about 11%), linen, wedge (oh so comfy) and with a bow! If I had to guess what kind of shoes Betty Boop would wiggle down the street in, it would totally be these.

  1. Agree on the summer shoe dilemma. I've got added pain this year as I lost a big toenail in a skiing incident early this year, and it's only half grown back. Gross looking. These are lovely but I'd worry the peeptoe would draw attention to my stubby nail.

  2. Thanks for flagging these, I'm another who struggles with summer shoes - love wearing floaty dresses and am never happy with how flats look (dumpy legs).

  3. I love the shoes, but I'm finding the photo really strange. Random legs = Curious styling choice, Mango.

  4. Love these but HOLY HELL I adore those jellies from Office! Crying inside at their not coming in a 9 on the website. The turquoise ones are insanely pretty.

  5. I LOVE peeptoe wedges. They are the shoe of summer; comfortable, practical for grassy surfaces and let the feet get some air!

BUT I can only deal with mid-height. I can't be teetering around the office or the park like a giraffe. (Why oh why are the majority of wedges so freakin' high?) Anyway, these Mango ones look ideal. WANT 'EM!

  6. Sssh, don't tell anyone but I already bought the jellies in both turquoise and pink. Bargainous and really comfy!

Summer shoes are impossible - wearing brogues in the summer may make me sweat but then at least I don't have the boredom of constantly making sure my toes are in decent nick...

  7. Love! Hoping they'll stay on my flat feet. If they don't, there's always those jelly shoes :)

Claire, I find that with wedges. Super high heels and too short dresses are plaguing my Summer shopping this year. It's like all the fashion companies have some lap dancer agenda going on. Weird.

  8. Why ARE all the shoes so high?! There's no need for a platform that gives you vertigo!
